Volunteers are critical to the provision of our service. Within the Trust volunteers come from a range of different backgrounds but all recognise that volunteering can be very rewarding. You do not need personal experience of life-threatening illness to join the Trust as all of our volunteers participate in our in-house training course. All we ask is that prospective volunteers have a desire to help and a willingness to learn.

 

All of our volunteers have to undergo a Criminal Records check.

 

Although based in Dorking we welcome enquiries from volunteers across Surrey to enable us to meet the wide geographical spread of our clients.

The Brigitte Trust understands the importance of supporting its volunteers and we provide monthly supervision and support groups. Our volunteers also have access to ongoing training and social events.

Volunteers give their time freely but are reimbursed for travel and out of pocket expenses.
