Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday- here’s how you can get involved today…
Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a way of encouraging people to do good, and has since grown into a worldwide movement inspiring millions to make donations, volunteer their time, and celebrate generosity. Below are some ideas for those of you interested in taking part;
Making a donation
You can donate to us in a number of different ways- online, in the post, as a one-off or a recurring amount… There’s options to suit everyone! You can read more about donating by clicking here to be redirected to our Donations page.
We’re also looking for donations of goods for our fundraising events! Whether it be a bottle of prosecco, a box of chocolates, unused toiletries, a board game, or even a novelty gift you got from your Secret Santa, we are grateful for anything you can provide us to use as raffle prizes. If you’d like to donate to us, please get in touch with our Fundraising Lead Tanya at tanya.stafford@brigittetrust.com.
Volunteering
We are always looking for new volunteers to join our team! As a Home Support Volunteer, you’ll provide emotional, social, and practical support to people in our community who are living with a life-limiting illness. You’ll meet and support people from all walks of life, each with their own unique story to share. Our volunteers frequently express what a humbling and meaningful experience it is to be alongside someone at such a difficult time in their lives.
We will provide you with full training, and all the support you need to succeed in your role. To learn more, click here to be taken to our Become a Volunteer page.
If you’re interested in volunteering but can’t commit to weekly visits, don’t worry- we also need ad-hoc volunteers for events and fundraisers! You could be asked to sell raffle tickets at a Christmas fair, bake a cake for a coffee morning, or place collection boxes in local shops. We appreciate the extra help, however much time you can spare.
Fundraising
Fundraising is a great way to raise money for charity while having fun and connecting with others in the community! Whether it be a marathon, a bake sale, or even a karaoke night- get your friends and family involved and enjoy yourself while helping a worthwhile cause.

However you choose to support us, we’d like to say a big THANK YOU. It’s with your help that we can continue to provide our services to people in Surrey living with the challenges of life-limiting conditions.
