Bereavement Support

Grief is a natural process and each person follows their own path in their own time. Volunteer support to a client’s family extends beyond the funeral with visits for up to three months if requested, with time to remember a loved one together. Volunteers can also find ongoing bereavement support for their clients from specialist partner charities and local support groups, as well as help with practical issues like paperwork.

Sometimes, sitting quietly and listening can be the most helpful gift of all.

Bereavement Support Groups

We run free structured 8-week bereavement programmes with a professional facilitator, for anyone in Surrey struggling with their grief. These sessions are limited to a maximum of 12 people and will be offered in different parts of Surrey according to need.
