What is Coffin Club?
Coffin Club is a free 6-week course, meeting once a week for a talk with an invited speaker, Q&A and discussion, and followed by refreshments.
Why Attend a Coffin Club?
Coffin Club is a place to come and learn about the different options available to you to help you plan your own end-of-life celebration, whatever stage of life you are at.
You will have an opportunity to hear from independent funeral directors to end-of-life doulas and everything in between.
We will dispel some of the myths and misconceptions associated with funerals- for example, did you know that you do not need to employ the services of a funeral director or hold your funeral at a crematorium chapel? You don’t even have to have a coffin if you don’t want one!
By the end of the course, you will have all the information you need to plan an ending that is personal and more meaningful to you and your loved ones- a celebration of life that is unique to you!
Decorate Your Own Coffin
In addition to educating participants about their funeral options, there is also the opportunity, for those who wish, to buy and decorate their own eco-friendly cardboard coffin. The cost of purchasing a coffin is £150. Coffins need to be purchased in advance and taken away at the end of the course.
